139: When You’re Recovering From Losing Your Period Due to an Eating Disorder - Chloe Catherine

The menstrual cycle is such a marker and indicator of health (it’s actually now the 5th vital sign of health) and yet it’s often portrayed as something to be avoided, ignored, or otherwise annoying. In fact, many people get excited about the idea of not having their period—but losing your period is a red flag that something is going wrong in your body.

Chloe Catherine lost her period at age 14 when she was in the midst of her eating disorder, and didn’t get it back until she was 25. She takes us through what made her realize she needed to take her period loss seriously, how she went about trying to get it back through food freedom, and advice she would give to anyone going through something similar.
