111: When You’re Questioning Your Sexuality - Mark Stokes

unnamed.jpg

I found Mark Stokes Instagram account (@notdefining) last June when I was in the midst of questioning my sexuality. While I knew I wasn’t 100% “straight”, I didn’t feel “queer enough” to identify as anything otherwise. This made for confusion in understanding who I really was and how I was “allowed” to show up in the world. If you’ve felt anything similar, you will get a lot out of this episode.

Mark Stokes shares his similar experience and how he came to find himself as a bisexual man in a loving marriage with a wonderful woman, and went on to create his platform @notdefining in helping sexually fluid people feel welcome and safe in who they are.

Tune into episode #111:

  • When he first realized that he was different from other kids and what that meant to him

  • His first experiences with his sexuality and sexual identity

  • How to cope with a lack of acceptance and approval

  • What it was like to grow up as a bisexual male in a religious family

  • Why it’s important for him to tell his story through @notdefining

  • The journey of himself and his wife Vic through their sexuality

  • Advice for people struggling with their sexuality or identity

  • Why it’s okay to change your sexuality and “come out” more than once
